Within the Branches: A Tree Trilogy

Three distinct short plays, all centering around a fruit tree. The plays in this series include: The Marriage Tree, Sour Wires, and We Dream of Fruit. The Marriage Tree

Play. Two young girls discuss love and life under the protective branches of a peach tree. A story about sexuality, identity, and family, The Marriage Tree wonders what it looks like for societal expectations to manifest in young people.

Short play. El—a fifteen-year-old struggling with their gender identity—sneaks into Darla’s—an adult woman struggling with her own secrets—backyard on a quest to steal lemons from Darla’s home-grown lemon tree.

One act play. Evangeline and Arlo are in each others’s dream at the mercy of a magical pear tree. The two have never met. Apparently, the universe seems to think it’s time they did.

Cherry-Flavored Fingers

Short screenplay. Two college-aged girls meet at a party and go on a quest to retrieve Slurpees from 7/11. They struggle to figure out the nuances of their newfound relationship while also encountering a mafia boss. Available upon request.
